Born in 1980 in Stockholm, Sweden, Elin Nordegren is the daughter of a respected politician and a famous radio journalist. She and her two siblings were quite independent growing up, and they did many summer jobs to finance their own education.

In the summer of 2000, Nordegren got a chance to explore a career quite different from her parents'. She dabbled into the modelling world and soon made her way to the cover of Cafe Sports in the same year.
3. Coming To The States
At the same time, Nordegren also worked in a clothing store called Champagne, where she met Mia Parnevik, wife of Swedish golfer Jesper Parnevik by chance. Later she went to the U.S. with them as a nanny for their children.

After being introduced to the golf world by the Parneviks, Nordegren soon drew tons of attention from the single golfers. Although many had not met her in person, they desired to pursue a romantic relationship with the Swedish beauty, and Tiger Woods was one of them.

8. The Infamous Car Crash
Things started going downhill in 2009, after Woods crashed his car and Nordegren "saved" him with a golf club. Her motive remained unclear, until a tabloid reported a month later that Woods had been involved in an affair with a waitress called Rachel Uchitel for almost 3 years.
9. Things Falling Apart
By the end of that month, over a dozen women had claimed to have had an affair with Woods. After the golfer had admitted his infidelity, Nordegren moved out of their house, shocked and devastated.
10. Calling It Quits
Although Woods tried to work things out, Nordegren knew that the conflict between them had become irreconcilable. A few months later in August, 2010, they officially ended their marriage.

Nordegren ended up walking away from the short-lived marriage with over $100M, way more than the $20M in their prenup agreement. In 2011, she used some of that money to purchase a $12M mansion in Florida.
