A Dalmatian went into labor suddenly, and everyone was excited to welcome the newbies. However, after the first few babies were pulled out, things looked off. They immediately rushed to the vet...
1. Cecilia The Breeder
43-year-old Cecilia Langton-Bunker is an Australian dog breeder, and she has been breeding, training and showing cubs under the name CCDalmatians for more than 24 years. Cecilia has always loved all dogs equally - until a dalmatian named Miley came into her life.
2. Outstanding Records
Cecilia has been taking care of Miley ever since she was a little puppy. In Cecilia's eyes, Miley was not only the sweetest puppy, but also the prettiest. Over the years, she has taken Miley to dog competitions all over Australia, placing in the top three every time.
3. Prepared For Pregnancy
As she grew older and had collected almost every competition title, Miley took time out of competitive life. In the midst of a romance with another high-end champion Dalmatia, Miley was ready for a new phase in her life: she was pregnant! Cecilia was overjoyed to hear the news, but it didn't take her long to realize something was wrong.
4. Something Was Off
Cecilia soon noticed something strange about Miley, so she took her to the vet for a checkup. The vet scanned him and stared at the X-rays. "I can't count how many" he whispered. Both the vet and Cecilia now knew how many puppies Miley was carrying, which meant they had to wait until the time came to see how she'd cope.
5. It Was About Time
In the early hours of the morning, Cecilia finally heard Miley's yelps of labor. Midwives rushed over and helped the puppies into the world. They pulled out the puppies one after another while the vet repeatedly said, "There surely can't be anymore!" By the 10th puppy, Cecilia's jaw almost dropped to the floor. But this was not the end.
6. Kept Coming Out
By the tenth puppy, everyone thought the labor was over. But then came the eleventh, twelfth, thirteenth... A total of 13 hours later, the doctors held their breath in disbelief at what they had witnessed. Cecilia looked at all the little paws right in front of her and began to cry. So how many puppies were there in the end?
7. How Many Were There?
There were 16 puppies, 12 females and 4 males! Tears welled up in Cecilia's eyes as the white cubs squirmed around looking for their mother, which reminded her of Purdy and her 15 children in 101 Dalmatians. In a split second, Cecilia wondered if Miley would break a world record by having 16 babies.
8. Broke The Record?
Unfortunately, Miley didn't break the world record. It was held by another dog who'd given birth to 18 puppies. But either way, 16 healthy puppies and Miley were enough to keep Cecilia happy and busy for a long time.
9. Took Care Of The Puppies
Taking care of 16 puppies was much harder than it sounds. Cecilia changed their sheets every day, monitored each puppy's growth, and took them for walks in the park. Under Cecilia's meticulous care, there was even a runt. However, as the puppy got older, it was time to let go.
10. Kept Only One Puppy
Cecilia finally set out to find the dogs new homes when they were two months old. Of the 16 dogs, Cecilia has kept one, Paris, who is outgoing and likes to get under her coat. The little guy inherited Miley's genes and later won "Best Puppy of Breed" and "Best Puppy in Ring."
11. Much Appreciation
Miley was still a sweetheart, living with Cecilia, who was grateful for Miley's company for such an unforgettable and unique experience. At the same time, Cecilia has bigger things planned.
12. A Big Gathering
Cecilia envisions having all the puppies back in her house in a year or two and throwing a big party. She would invite everyone who had been involved in Miley's labor, prepare treats for both humans and dogs, and even open her pool for the dogs to splash in. She looks forward to the day when the big family can play around together again, and to hear the sound of laughter everywhere.
